San Felipe is the capital of the San Felipe de Aconcagua province and the western valley's access hub: bus terminal, colonial and religious heritage, and the best traditional and market food. It is the base for domestic, cultural and religious travelers, and the gateway to Putaendo, Panquehue and Jahuel.

A valley city at ~635 m above sea level on the Aconcagua River, with a colonial grid layout around the Plaza de Armas. Hot, dry Mediterranean summers.

Route 57/Route 60 from Santiago: ~90 km, 1h10. Parking downtown and on the streets around the square.

Pullman Bus and Buses Ahumada from Terminal Alameda / Los Héroes. ~2h, CLP 4,000–6,500. Downtown walkable from the terminal.
