A valley-and-foothills comuna north of Los Andes, along the banks of the Aconcagua, with rural areas and organic vineyards climbing toward the mountains.

Recommended season

Wine tourism Mar–May (harvest). Hot springs year-round. La Bodeguita de Muñoz only Sat–Sun 1–5 pm.

Route 57 → Los Andes → E-85 / E-745 turnoff to San Esteban. From Santiago ~87 km, 1h10. Just 3 km from central Los Andes.

By public transport

Bus to Los Andes and a local shared taxi/minibus to San Esteban (~CLP 600–800, 5 min).
