Founded by the Society of History and Archaeology of Aconcagua (1945), it holds collections of archaeology, history, art and paleontology from the valley, including Aconcagua-culture pieces from the La Troya and Bellavista digs. It sits in the historic center, steps from San Felipe's main square, and admission is free.

How to get there

  1. From Santiago, take Route 57 to San Felipe (a little over an hour).
  2. In the historic center, the museum is at Freire 12, steps from the Plaza de Armas.
  3. There is parking downtown and easy access by public transport.
