What to do in Panquehue?
Panquehue is the heart of premium wine tourism in the Aconcagua Valley: century-old wineries and icons such as Errázuriz (1870) and Von Siebenthal line Route 60, 15 min from San Felipe. It adds a craft brewery, river bathing spots and the Paidahuén archaeological park.
Location
A wine-growing valley comuna on Route 60 (the road to the coast), with a hot, dry climate ideal for age-worthy reds; along the Aconcagua River.
Wine tourism year-round, peak at harvest Mar–May. River spots in summer.
Route 60 km 36 (Errázuriz). From Santiago ~90 km, 1h05. Signposted from the highway; ample parking. Don't drive after tasting — frequent police checks on Route 60.
Bus to San Felipe and ask to stop in Panquehue + local taxi (~CLP 2,000). No direct bus to the wineries. A tour with transport from Santiago is recommended.
