What to do in Llay-Llay?

Llay-Llay is the valley's western gateway and its main road junction: a historic crossroads between Santiago, the valley and the coast. Famed across Chile for its roadside empanadas, it adds wine tourism at Barón Knyphausen Winery and railway and mill heritage.

A valley comuna at the southwestern end of the Aconcagua, where Route 5 and Route 60 meet; agricultural plain and roadside services.

Recommended season

Year-round as a road stop; wine harvest Mar–May.

By car

On the Route 60 corridor / near Route 5. From Santiago ~75–90 km via Los Libertadores or Route 5. Approximate distances — to be validated in matrix v4.

By public transport

Excellent intercity connectivity thanks to its hub role; Santiago–San Felipe–Los Andes buses stop in the area.
